Services & Expertise: What We Do – “Nifty Mobile Notary” for your Business Needs

Origins: Professional Consulting and Business-to-Business

Our original, but since-refocused operation supported businesses and freelance by identifying technological areas of need; presenting customers with: a selection of software, services, and tools to fill your needs–for your own choice and implementation. And all at the best possible rates by using our network of vendors. We considered our approach to be “concierge consulting” because we did the legwork for clients, from research to presenting options for your ultimate choice. We do not engage in: executing or drafting contracts on your behalf, entering into agreements or SLAs on your behalf, any legal advice, use of third-party/(sub)contractors, or other forms of exercising control of your business and operations. Instead, it’s best to let you retain control–we find options, not necessarily suggestions. Since then, we’ve refocused efforts into those identity- and trust-related components via expanded notarial services.

Diversification & Entry to the Finance Industry: Cleveland-area Notary Signing Agent–Our Current, Prevailing Industry

Since founding, CEK Enterprises, Inc., has expanded into other skilled business-to-business professional services, most notably offering mobile notary public services. Yes, the notary will travel to you and meet at your home or a public place! Consumers are welcome to contact the mobile notary for so-called “traditional” or “basic” acts like jurats (“oaths” or “affirmations”), acknowledgments, and the likes. The fee is $5.00 per Act, plus pre-negotiated travel, pursuant to ORC § 147.

Advanced services, like loan signings, title transfers/applications, Ohio DNR watercraft registration, witnessing or notarizing commercial contracts, and the likes carry reasonable, lawful surcharges.

Expertly Notarizing: From Industrial- and Commercial-Related Contracts to Loan Closings since 2018

CEK Enterprises, Inc.’s mobile notary earned his commission in Ohio in 2018. Originally, he exclusively handled commercial and industrial payment applications (e.g., AIA forms) and contract witnessing. These transactions require exceptional attention to detail, especially because the work involved billing and contract witnessing on projects from tens of thousands of dollars to over $100,000.00 per project and often per AIA pay application!

Since then, and with businesses in mind since founding, the mobile notary public is also a skilled NSA™ (Notary Signing Agent), fully vetted by, trained by, certificated by, and a lifelong member of NNA (National Notary Association). The mobile NSA™ professional’s conduct is regularly reviewed at least once per year via background checks covering minor traffic infractions to terrorist- and international watchlists. Rest assured of your security and of our integrity.

Do You Represent a Lender or Contracting Company? Please Consider Asking for Verification Documents

If you represent a title company, escrow company, lending bank, real estate firm, signing service, or another related organization that regularly relies upon a mobile notary signing agent, please add us to your list! Notary Signing agents are skilled at home loan closings, refi loans, other mortgage closings, and other loan processing paperwork needing an official notarial seal!

Reputable organizations are allowed to review our key notary-related documents, such as the active state commission, various background checks, Form W-9, insurance limits, and the likes.

Are You an Enterprise Seeking Document Witnessing or Notarization?

Let’s talk! As above, we originated in working with high-value enterprise payment applications and other transactions. Worried about risk? See below about the critical insurance coverages carried.

Thoughts About Responsible Business Conduct: Carry Superb Coverage from an Excellent Carrier, including for notarial acts

Notarial Acts by our mobile signing notary–for all transactions, even direct-to-consumer–are covered by a strong, reliable professional liability policy so that you can rest assured knowing that your stake and your clients’ stake are handled with the detail and respect they require–and this fallback coverage may be available when it’s needed. That’s in addition or possibly collaboration to your title company’s (or other involved parties’) own insurances [or your corporation’s policies, in case we’re notarizing/witnessing an enterprise transaction].

We think it’s irresponsible for loan signing notaries to work without sufficient E&O insurance coverage, including being underinsured or insured by a subpar-rated professional liability insurance carrier. That’s why CEK Enterprises, Inc.’s mobile NSA™ partners with *HISCOX: an A-or-higher rated⁺ insurer and global leader in indemnity.

Founding & Principles: Who We Are & What We Believe

CEK Enterprises, Inc. was formally incorporated in 2020 in northeastern Ohio on the east side of Cleveland (but existed nearly 6.5 years before incorporation, including in southern California!) and has grown into a, primarily, business-to-business (“B2B”) consulting/freelancing firm, particularly for industrial and commercial operations in the Northeast Ohio region. As above, financial organizations also trust our skilled mobile notary.

We believe strongly in cultivating genuine professional relationships. We’ve found that people are keen to share their stories, and most professionals are willing to lend a hand or loop-in their friends…it’s just a matter of following through and tapping into the right people to get the ball rolling. And we’ve leveraged that to save you money while we do the work for- or on behalf of your business.

Our clients represent a diverse background, including established painting subcontractors, miscellaneous start-ups at their initial developing phase, nonprofit social organization, loan signing contracting companies, lenders, title and escrow businesses, a project-based learning private school built for talented students with unmet needs, small businesses, and $1MM+ businesses trust our exceptional attention to detail, integrity, skilled master negotiator and management-leadership cultivator, competitive pricing and commitment to completing projects on time and on budget. That’s why so many small and large businesses return to us as they start, expand, grow and maintain their diverse, important companies.

How We Do It: We’re All About Business & B2B

With ownership of the latest, state-of-the-art equipment, notary materials, secured shipping by default, and over 5 years of experience in specialized notarial we’re capable of handling most any project of any scale. While we primarily offer freelancing and consulting services to other businesses, we may be able to help with some of your personal needs. Our traveling notary has held an uninterrupted commission since 2018 in northeast Ohio.

Please note that we’ve pivoted from B2B “concierge consulting” to dedicate attention to title companies and signing services so that we can facilitate loan signings. We’re proud to serve a majorly socially impactful part of the economy. Accordingly and with this pivot, we keep consulting services to relatively minimum options, with a target of no more than 5% revenue from consulting per year. Therefore, we kindly advise that B2B services are on a case-by-case basis. If the company’s alignments change in the future, we’ll be sure to let you know!

More About Our Services: Our areas of expertise include:

Notary services: As above. Direct to consumer (general public) and B2B with notary signing contracting companies and related organizations.

Concierge consulting: *Extremely Limited Availability* Let’s talk about what your needs may be and how CEK Enterprises, Inc. can research as much of the procurement process for your business–for your ultimate decision and execution. Some examples of areas of experience include…

  • Notary Public services in the State of Ohio for basic and complex documents, such as simple 1-pg affidavits (jurats, acknowledgments, etc.), title transfers and even closing papers for a property sale (Notary Signing Agent). We’ll even come to you for this service and can act as a notary-agent for real estate transactions. Our Notary Public belongs to a professional network of notaries, and he carries additional insurance (errors and omissions, a/k/a professional liability)–on top of the company’s traditional insurance policy–to specifically protect notarizing services (i.e., limits in addition to regular business liability insurance)
  • Find the best providers with the lowest rates for a domain name for your company, research and present web hosting packages, and the same for email setup; present options to transfer your existing domain or site to a new host–you make the decision!
  • Research and present, for your ultimate decision and execution, payment acceptance via various platforms and methods; present to you options/consultants to then integrate your payments with your other processes/software, saving you time (e.g., link your bank account and accounting software; autofill sales orders for shipping all in one platform, and similar process improvements). N.b.: We do NOT process transactions on your behalf–we are not a merchant account, gateway, or processor! We will not access, directly or indirectly, or otherwise view your banking information.
  • Present options to monetize your website such as via Google Ads and other revenue streams, like affiliate networks
  • Referral to high quality, affordable specialized providers–actual human contacts rather than simple 800 numbers, from banking and payment processing to logistics and travel. And these folks would contract directly with you: we never use subcontractors, and we believe this ultimately helps your business!
  • Suggest ways to achieve or beat our shared, negotiated rates for many small business needs. Let us connect you to savings, including but not limited to: shipping (discounted FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL at 25-75% off), electronics (HP, Dell, Apple, and others), Amazon.com (including purchasing via Net 30 terms), travel (multiple airlines, hotels and car rental companies), and other purchasing channels/procurement needs
  • Asset liquidation: you can sell us your items, and we will separately market them via our existing sales portals or via manufacturer trade-in offers: You get your cash right away, and you aren’t involved in any downstream components.
  • Connect you with exceptional professionals to design of a basic web presence, social media and content management system (CMS), such as a WordPress marketplace
  • Primarily serving Cleveland and the northeastern Ohio area (but also ~50 mi surrounding regions and states, based on project specifications; available for domestic and international travel to your site at additional rate)
  • Evening, weekend & holiday hours available for select projects, upon advanced request (particularly popular during seasonal/holiday closings to avoid disrupting your normal customers and/or employees.

And we’re flexible enough to expand work orders (change orders) on-the-fly for those last-minute and unexpected changes: for your convenience we aim to and typically turn-around executed COs within 2-12 hours upon receipt of your official form. We also have a licensed, mobile Notary Public on-staff to expedite filings and return of official documents, like contracts and grants. FOR ENTERPRISE: As noted elsewhere, lenders, title companies, signing services, and contracting companies: please text him for the fastest response. We aim to reply to our enterprise clients within 3-5 minutes of a text. FOR CONSUMERS: Just reach out via webform, and we aim to respond within 4-8 hours.

Economical & Savings-Oriented

Our strong partnerships and negotiated rates with suppliers allow us to get products and services at deep-discounts–savings passed on to you in our easy-to-understand quotations, invoices, and change orders. For instance, if you have a loan signing, we can afford to beat the competition because of our wide-ranging discounts.

Overview: Default Terms, Billings, and Service Standards

Learn more about general service standards. For more complete information, have a look at all terms and conditions in what we call “The Uniform Policy.” Why the fancy name? The Policy is truly meant to be all-encompassing and a go-to, default, standard Policy–in other words, Uniform!

Default Terms & Timely and Negotiable Billing Policy

Our default terms for notarial and B2B services are Due on Receipt (see our full terms within our Uniform Policy). We also understand different business have different needs and are at different stages. Thus, we’re flexible to your needs as long as we know up-front and agree to such alternative terms (in writing). We’re honest and “up-front” with our practices, including invoicing. If a service needs it–or if you request it, you’ll find clear, understandable terms on our original proposal document(s) and on any subsequent change order requests.

For NSA™-related loan signings, we will negotiate with you for market-competitive terms for the areas we serve. The lowest, base rate is $85.00/signing package (“signing ceremony”), and we sometimes add a travel component based on distance: we think you’ll find our travel rates incredibly fair and well below our competitors. Please see our full terms at the Uniform Policy and billing page. In line with traditional market terms, we also charge ancillary fees for specific situations like cancelation (“printing fee”), no-show, refuse to sign, etc.

Service Standards (B2B/Contracts & Payment Applications [Form AIA])–Turnaround Timeline

We aim to turn-around all commercial and industrial paperwork, including contract witnessing/notarizations, billing documents (such as form AIA), and other official forms (such as lien waivers), within 48 business hours but often can do so much sooner (often within 15-90 minutes). We can return documents electronically (PDF via email or upload), execute via a web service like DocuSign® or Adobe Sign®, or ship them to you (see options below).

Unless otherwise requested, we Digitally Certify all our PDF documents (excludes loan signings). That means they are the legal equivalent of a traditional, inked signature, under various State and Federal laws and under key international treaties.

Such a Certificate embeds a complete, verified digital certificate signature issued by a global leader in vetting for identity verification (IdenTrust – the IGC certificate series). This certificate ensures our signatures are authentic, able to be independently confirmed, include a public audit trail to anyone with access to the document, and more.

Shipment/Return of Physical Documents–B2B (Notary Signings Differ)

B2B Customers: For original, official documents requiring a physical copy in-hand, we will return them to you at no additional charge via USPS First-Class Mail® service (without tracking; add USD$2.96 for each shipment for tracking) up to 15.999 oz. At or above 16. oz, or at your choice: You may select that we return documents via an expedited, tracked method, including:

  • USPS® Priority Mail® 1-Day® (or 2-Day®, or 3-Day®) [includes all letters weighing 16. oz or more] or via Priority Mail Express® service;
  • UPS® (3 Day Select®, 2nd Day Air® or Next Day Air® service); or,
  • FedEx® Express (Express Saver®, 2Day® or Priority Overnight® service)

…all such services being available to you at our deeply negotiated shipping rates (8-70% off retail) or even billed directly to your shipping account. Sorry–other than USPS Ground Advantage® service, no ground courier methods, please. You are responsible for the full rate that we charge you, so please confirm before we ship. Otherwise, if you indicate a need for express shipping, we will assume you prefer ASAP delivery and will ship within our timeline: we will then bill you for the expedited service. We will not ship COD.

Shipment/Return of Physical Documents–Notary Signings/Loan Signings

LOAN SIGNING CUSTOMERS (Contracting Companies, Signing Services, Title Companies, Banks, Real Estate Attorneys, etc.): It’s critical that loan packages arrive on-time, in full, and complete. Typically, you will provide us a prepaid label. We promise to ship the full package, at no additional cost, based on these timeframes…

(1) Signings completed by 03:00 pm ET (without scanbacks): Item will ship same day via our choice of courier pickup or via drop-off at courier facility. If scanbacks are required, the completion cutoff time is 02:15 pm ET for same-day shipping. If returning to the office for scans/getting to courier is not feasible by these times (distant trip, e.g.), we will let you know the same day we accept the signing.

(2a) Signings scheduled- or completed at or after 03:01 pm ET (no scanbacks) or 02:16 pm ET (yes, scanbacks required), respectively: Most courier facilities express cutoff is 5:00 pm. Therefore, we will first try a same-day pickup (no extra fee)–trucks that pickup packages accept them much later while still reaching their cargo plane the same day. Not guaranteed.

(2b) If the scheduled pickup fails (no driver comes) or else is too late for even a pickup, then we will either drop off the documents next day by courier facility cutoff -or- schedule a midday pickup with the courier. When we schedule next-day pickups, the latest drivers are allowed to pickup is 02:30 pm ET—thus, we will hand-deliver to a facility if the driver is a no-show.

We do not surcharge for courier pickups. Documents scheduled for pickup are kept safely for release to the driver.

If you do not provide a prepaid label, the loan package will be held for several reasons and pending your attention. For instance, we must know the exact address, including the ATTN line, before shipping. If you approve, we will create an air waybill and ship to your designated address, in accordance with the above timetable. We will invoice you for shipping if you do not prepay. Rates vary, primarily based on size of paper (dimensions), number of pages (weight), and distance.
