TRAVEL FEES–FROM COMPLIMENTARY TO NEGOTIABLE*

Value Coverage Zone (Included)–No Additional Notary Travel Fees: ZIP Codes, Counties, and Municipalities

For the most local of assignments, we do not charge a travel fee above or beyond the signing agent fee(s). That way, we can transact more expediently and efficiently! There is NO travel fee in the Value Zone.

Value Zone: Mentor OH, Lake County, or ≤ 12.5 mi + Select ZIP Codes™

There is no added travel fee for services within Mentor, OH (city), within Lake County, or within 12.5 mi of our office (even if the address within Mentor or Lake County is >12.5 mi away).

Remaining Zones—Calculation Methods for Linear Distances (Radius): ZIP Codes™, Counties, and Municipalities

Drawn on a map, coverage zones are simply radii emanating from our office address outwards in all cardinal directions. Because the circles at those radii cut off borders (like county lines), we can measure distance a few ways so that the FULL city, ZIP Code™, or county in question is still included. If an explicitly-listed (“Select”) Locality (ZIP Code™, Municipality, or County) is intersected, than that entire locality is rounded down to the lower of the borderline Zones.

Standard Zone: >12.5 mi and ≤ 25 mi + Select ZIP™ Codes + Select Counties

There is a hybrid travel rate added to the service fee. First, add a flat fee of $7.50, and then add 22.5 cents per mi for travel to–Municipalities, Counties, or ZIP Code™ locations (A) explicitly listed below, or (B) within 25 mi (stop counting miles at the border if it’s >25 mi but is explicitly listed as being part of this tier).

Extended Zone Preferred™: >25 mi and ≤ 37.5 mi + Select ZIP™ Codes + Select Counties

There is a hybrid travel rate added to the service fee. First, add a flat fee of $9.00, and then add 34.5 cents per mi for travel to–Municipalities, Counties, or ZIP Code™ locations (A) explicitly listed below, or (B) within 37.5 mi (stop counting miles at the border if it’s >37.5 mi but is explicitly listed as being part of this tier).

Extended Zone Standard™: >37.5 mi and ≤ 50 mi + Select ZIP™ Codes + Select Counties

There is a hybrid travel rate added to the service fee. First, add a flat fee of $15.00, and then add 40.25 cents per mi for travel to–Municipalities, Counties, or ZIP Code™ locations (A) explicitly listed below, or (B) within 50 mi (stop counting miles at the border if it’s >37.5 mi but is explicitly listed as part of this tier).

Extended Zone Select™: >50 mi but Select Areas We Cover

The same rate rules apply as with Extended Zone Standard™. These are some municipalities slightly beyond a circle from our address which we still consider reasonable and within coverage. No need to do extra work confirming coverage! Anything listed below is covered at the stated rate. Neighboring municipalities are not necessarily covered!

Not Zoned: Beyond 50 mi, Not Select ZIP™ Code, and Not Select County

If your location is not explicitly listed and is greater than 50.0 miles from our office address, then you need to contact us to see if we’re willing to travel that distance. We will negotiate a fair travel fee with you if we agree to travel.

Other Measurement Details: ZIP Code™

…From our office, we measure to: (A) The/a Post Office™ address for that ZIP Code™; OR: (B) the street address appears on Google Maps when typing that ZIP Code™ into the map. Usually, but not always, that would be City Hall or the exact center of the municipal boundary.

Other Measurement Details: County

…From our office, we measure to: (A) the county seat; OR: (B) the border line of the county facing nearest to our office (e.g., for Cuyahoga, which is westerly, we’d measure to the eastern boarder of the county line; and vice versa).
